Walsingham Academy is an independent Roman Catholic school in Williamsburg, Virginia, and founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1947.

Mission statement

Walsingham Academy, a Catholic, Christ-centered learning environment, established by the Sisters of Mercy, commits itself to educational excellence and the development of the whole person through a spiritual and value-centered curriculum that emphasizes responsible leadership reflecting the Mercy heritage of compassion and service.[2]

Walsingham's school mascot is the Trojan. The sports teams have won state championship titles in field hockey, lacrosse, golf, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and swimming.

Walsingham hosts several service organizations, in which students volunteer in the city and county. The largest of these is the Nature Club. Walsingham is also known for its after-school programs, which include the World Cultures club.

Walsingham Academy choir, the Madrigal Singers, performed in Beijing in 2008 and in Rome in 2011.[3]

Academics at Walsingham

Walsingham has won several Blue Ribbon educational awards and has had several National Merit Scholars. Walsingham offers 16 AP classes and a handful of honors classes.
